Post Break-Up To Do List
1) Write unsendable letters. If you write down your feelings addressed to a certain person, then you can clear your mind and organize your thoughts.
2) Volunteer. It’s important to keep yourself occupied so you don’t think too much about what happened, and volunteering always gives you a sense of accomplishment.
3) Read romance novels. In the beginning it’ll hurt, but slowly it’ll make you believe in love again. I’d say to start off with Emma or Pride and Prejudice (reread if you’ve already read them). There are a whole world of books that can help you with that. (But not Twilight. That’s not real romance.)
4) Change your music. Often times when you’re hurt, you listen to sad music. Look for the happiest, most upbeat music you can find and feed off of the vibes the music gives off. Need songs? Find some here.
5) Realize who your true friends are. The ones that stick with you after the breakup, and support you through it are people you should never lose. Make sure that they know how much they mean to you.
6) Get healthy. Exercise and eat well because it feels great knowing that you look your best.
Most of all, remember that time heals all wounds.
These are the standard things that I think should help when someone’s getting over a breakup. If you need any more help or would like to talk about it, all you have to do is ask (non-anon) and we’ll try and help! <3
